“You can let your imagination go to work and find innovative solutions for your customers.”
Aurelien is accustomed to responding to emergencies, on and off the job. At nVent, his specialty is solving pressing product issues for colleagues and customers across southern Europe and he’s a volunteer fire firefighter in his spare time.
Aurelian’s problem-solving skills were put to the test one Friday night, after many of his co-workers had left for the weekend. A colleague in Italy called to say a newly-delivered electrical enclosure wasn’t working properly. The customer needed it fixed—immediately.
“I said, ‘Give me 10 minutes.’ No one in R&D was here, so I went down to the production line,” Aurelien recalls. “My colleague there was very happy to help me solve the issue quickly. I promptly shared the solution with my colleague in Italy.”
nVent’s emphasis on working as a team and facing challenges together is critical in situations like this.
“I need my colleagues’ help to do my job well,” Aurelien says. “Without a culture of mutual respect and teamwork, some people wouldn’t be so eager to solve someone else’s problem.”
He values the trust his managers place in him.
“If you know your bosses are confident in your choices, you can bring your best every day. You can let your imagination go to work and find innovative solutions for your customers.”
